Went down to Busselton Jetty again. This time we avoided the sun and set off in the afternoon, reaching there around 5pm.
Started off with a good mixed school of garfishes, herrings, trumpeters, skippies and some funny blowies. Tested out my new rig and berley method and it worked pretty well giving us quite a nice catch of gardies.
Gardies

Funny coral fish?

Some small skippies

After we reached the end of the jetty I put the herring on gang hooks and after 30mins.. fish on!!! The fish was around 50cm as I was reeling it in but lost it when the line snapped as we tried to pull it up. Damn... and that was my only herring.
After that it was pretty boring until Moses found a huge ass cuttlefish having supper in his crab net.

Zq and I went jigging for squids and she got one and lost two. I got one but as I lifted it up it hit the side of the jetty and dropped.. Shiiiiiiiiit
N then Nic got a small baby shark (okay la, really very small)

All was pretty quiet until around 3+am when Moses spotted a whirlpool of fishes squirming just below the surface of the water. A few casts revealed that they were herrings. So I rigged my herring rig again and constantly berleyed the water to keep the school around. Deeeeeeym those herrings are small but have a good fight in them. The fights are only a few seconds but some of the larger ones were flipping in the air and even got the drag of my 8lb line reel going.

I kept fishing for them until I ran out of bait and this ended me with a huge catch of yellowtails and herrings.
At the end of the night, this was our total catch.

The herrings are the last two rows on the right side, yellowtails are the next row followed by the gardies
